A clearer first draft
Good writing starts with a clear idea. Write your first draft freely, then take a moment to read it aloud.
Make room for your main point
A word count can help you work within a limit. Paste your text into the counter on the home page to see its length and estimated reading time.
Reading time assumes 200 words per minute and rounds up to a whole minute. Each Chinese character counts as one word; other words are separated by punctuation or whitespace.
Keep it simple
Remove repeated thoughts, choose familiar words, and give each paragraph a purpose. A shorter draft is useful when it makes the idea easier to follow.
